January Meeting Minutes The meeting was called to order at 6:15pm at the Pizza Ranch in Lennox, SD. Approval of the December meeting minutes was motioned by Peggy Whitehead and the motion was seconded by Shawn Nesseim. Old Business DTMS joined the CMSA. The cost was $425 instead $450 as mentioned in the December meeting. Mike Whitehead sent in the fee for DTMS to join MSA. An MSA and a CMSA shoot cannot be held in the same weekend and at the same arena. Any shoot held outside of the Whitehead arena will cost $50. However, once the $50 is paid you are able to use that arena for the year. DTMS is hosting the state shoot for 2008, which will be held on July 19th and 20th. The SOTW shoot will be held September 19-21st. Mick Nesseim made a motion for the first MSA shoot be held on Memorial Day weekend. The motion was seconded by Gene Whitehead. Further discussion on the details of the shoot has been tabled until the February meeting. Memberships – Mike Whitehead handed out the new membership applications. The applications contain both MSA and CMSA rates for memberships. The Horse Fair will be held March 14 – 16th. Mick Nesseim did receive information regarding the Horse Fair, but the information did not indicate the cost of a booth. Further discussion on the Horse Fair has been tabled until the February meeting. New Business A discussion took place regarding ways to promote the shoots. A Business Man Shoot was mentioned in which local business owners would compete in the shoot. Proceeds from the shoot would be donated to a local family. Another idea would be to have a Celebrity Shoot which would consist of local radio and/or news personalities. Summer Series (MSA 20x) was discussed. The Summer Series would be a sanctioned MSA shoot. Further discussion on the Summer Series has been tabled for a later meeting. Kevin Finck reminded DTMS members to get their membership applications and fees turned in so we can get them sent off before February 15th. Membership applications and fees can be sent to: DTMS, 28052 465th Ave., Lennox SD 57039 Our next meeting will be at 5:30pm at the Pizza Ranch in Lennox on February, 10th. At 7:50pm Kevin Finck made the motion to adjourn the meeting, Mardy Gulbrandson seconded the motion. |
